About-Us

Shri Kamdhenu Divya Aushadhi Mahila Sahkari Mandali was founded in 1997 with a vision to uplift a village through its very own resources ‘Desi Gau’ (Indian Indigenous breed of Cow) and ‘Gauri’ (Women). Ayurvedacharya Hitesh Jani and his team, while visiting villages for medical services, observed that there was lack of commuting as well as health facilities available to the villagers. Instead of waiting for the Government to do something about it he decided to train the villagers, especially women to identify medicinal plants growing around and how to use them for common ailments. He also made them aware of the living heritage around them – Our Desi Gau. He and his team explained, apart from Milk and Ghee, Cow urine and dung was also a source of income. Let me put a note here, all this was not done overnight. It took 7 pretty years when they came forward to give it a form of women’s registered co-operative society in 2003, today well known as Kamdhenu Mahila Mandali.
